Using presets in ACDsee requires a few more key depressions than the same activity in Lightroom, and over hundreds or thousands of images that soon adds up. It saves bloating Lightroom with unwanted images, but I actually prefer the editing process in Lightroom. However, for editing images in bulk (eg a large selection of wedding images) I select the ones I want in ACDsee, move them to a separate folder, and then upload those into Lightroom for editing. I don't think there is anything that Lightroom does that ACDsee can't do. The editing tools are also good - very comparable to Lightroom in functionality. It is really speedy as it doesn't require the images to be 'imported', so perfect for opening a folder of hundreds of images and quickly viewing, grading, sorting and culling them. I've used ACDsee for many years, and it is my Go To software for viewing and managing image files.
